The electron self-energy, [math]\displaystyle{ \Sigma_{n \mathbf{k}}(\omega) }[/math], depends on the frequency [math]\displaystyle{ \omega }[/math] (or energy [math]\displaystyle{ \hbar \omega }[/math]).
