Our cluster seems to be unstable w.r.t to mpich1 so we are migrating to mpich2. This requires recompilation of vasp. I am compiling vasp on a test machine which is an intel xeon with dual core processor. When I try to compile vasp4.6.28, I get the following error:
IPO Error: unresolved : mpi_conversion_fn_null_
Referenced in mpi.o
and the installation crashes.
I am using the mpif90 compiler which was compiled using ifort.
Is this an error in vasp or mpich2 ?? Can someone please help

Thanks, Has anyone ever tried to compile vasp using mpich2 coz I have no idea how to even start looking for the cause of this error.
