How to set reasonable and high efficiency NPAR:?

#1 Post by chenweiguang » Thu Dec 13, 2007 4:30 am

I look through the tags about NPAR, but still can not understand it clearly.
Our supercomputer is a linux cluster, in which every node with 2 processors. Should i set NPAR as number of nodes or number of processors? which is better?
If the cpu is of multi-core, so what?
Thanks.

The rule of thumb may not be always true. So you'd better to test the NPAR setting, as it is also system-dependent.
