I am trying to do a calculation with a VdW-DF functional. For this the wiki says that I need to use a pre-calculated kernel found in VASP/src/vdw_kernel.bindat. However, when I go to this directory there is not a file called "vdw_kernel.bindat". The closest is "vdw_nl.F" or "vdwforcefield.F".

I know that I can calculate the vdw_kernel.bindat file, however, VASP warns me that it could take days.

Do you where I could find the vdw_kernel.bindat file, or do I have to download it separately?
Do you know what these other files are?

The vdw_kernel.bindat file is available from the vasp-portal:
vasp-portal/

You might need to ask the licensce signatory to access the portal and download that file for you.
