Runtime error

#1 Post by kazeej » Thu May 16, 2024 10:35 pm

Hi everyone,

Is there any reason why my VASP simulation stops after running for a few minutes. I have attached my input files. Thanks for your help.

Dear kazeej,

I tried running your calculation. I did not experience any issues. I was running on 64 AMD EPYC 7773X cores.
The time for an electronic minimization takes around 0.34h. Before the first loop is written there is no output given to the OUTCAR file.
The memory consumption is about 214GB for 64 cores and 3.3GB per core.
Could it maybe be that you experienced a memory overflow. You could check this in the std output.

However I am not able to find any issues with your job files.

All the best Jonathan

Thank you. Just using more cores solved my problem.
